Green Jobs

Our Green Collar Jobs Program provides a combination of wages, leadership, and/or substantive community service work opportunities for at-risk young people through landscape and garden jobs. We hire Ponderosa High School (PHS) students and work with youth from the Coconino County Juvenile Detention Center Transition School (JDCTS). This program is an educational and vocational training program to prepare underprivileged and/or impoverished 17-22 year olds to take part in the burgeoning green-collar sector of the economy.

a place to learn, grow, and take flight

Many youth in our community do not have functional parents or positive role models to help them develop the life skills, motivation, and discipline to successfully transition into the workplace. Terra BIRDS provides our interns with a safe environment to explore career opportunities and engages young people in a morale-boosting, progressive sector of the economy with clear pathways for growth and increased income, and myriad opportunities for personal and community betterment.
